Volunteer experience and preference
We Walk UHNITED is taking place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Toronto General Hospital outdoor parking lot (201 Elizabeth Street). Due to the scale of this event, we will require volunteers not only on event day, but also two weeks leading up to and one month following the event. Below are examples of some volunteer positions available. More details about each role will be provided once you have been assigned.
Pre-event (May 26-30) : event kit pick up, venue set up, etc.
Event day (May 31): venue set up, venue tear down, cheer squad, pit stop, route support (includes water stations, marshals, etc.) and celebration site (includes information booth, registration, kit pick up, food and beverage, activity booths, crowd control, etc.) Event day shifts may start as early as 6 a.m. and could end as late as 4 p.m. depending on the role. These roles will require you to attend a virtual training session before the event (dates and times to be confirmed)
Post-event (June 23-27) : prizing fulfillment, packing, etc.
Please note that some roles will require standing for long periods of time or heavy lifting. UHN Foundation is dedicated to ensuring accessible event experiences and will make every effort to accommodate all accessibility requirements when possible.
While we strive to give our volunteers the best experience and will try to place you in your preferred area of interest, we cannot guarantee the requested position. We appreciate your flexibility, as you may be assigned where needed most.
